Turning second hand goods in to first class care
Hospice Waikato operates nine shops throughout the Waikato. We sell a range of quality recycled goods including furniture, clothing, shoes, bedding, books, home ware, bric-a-brac and more, with the income from these shops enabling Hospice Waikato to deliver its care at no cost to our patients and their families and whānau.
In addition to generating income for Hospice Waikato, the shops provide a sense of community, friendship and an opportunity to ‘give back’ for the more than 300 retail volunteers who give up their time to work in our shops. They are an outlet for quality recycled goods for many people within the Waikato and, through our newly established online shop, throughout New Zealand. With a focus on recycling and the environment, the shops enable our communities to recycle their own quality, used goods, along with the feelgood factor of making a financial contribution to a service organisation with a strong community brand.
