An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Team Leader – Community Nursing Service to join Hospice Waikato on a permanent, full time basis. The Team Leader – Community Nursing Service is responsible for the delivery of high-quality specialist palliative care for patients and their families within the Waikato community. This includes the clinical leadership and mentoring of the nursing team, working closely with the medical, family services and volunteer teams, and managing the day-to-day running of the community nursing service, including roster and budget responsibilities. The Team Leader – Community Nursing Service will also be involved in clinical education and career progression planning for nursing staff, contributing to the collective growth and development of the palliative care nursing team at Hospice Waikato.

We are looking for that special someone who is passionate about nursing and is currently in a leadership position and looking for a new challenge!

To be the right fit for this role and our organisation it is expected you would bring:
• Strong and proven clinical leadership experience in the delivery of palliative care
• Proven success in managing clinical staff
• An expert level of practice within palliative care
• A tertiary qualification in palliative care or a related field
• Must have, or be working towards a master’s in nursing
• Evidence of your commitment to growing your own skills and capabilities, as well as those who report to you
• Proficiency in the use of computers and digital technology
• Self-motivation, enthusiasm and leadership skills
• Emotional maturity and resilience

You will need to be proficient with digital technology and using portable electronic devices, as Hospice Waikato is embracing virtual health and new technology.
