Registered Nurse - South Waikato (0.7 FTE)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Registered Nurse to join our Community Nursing Service providing specialist palliative care to patients and their family/carers in their own home. As a part of the Community Nursing Service - Rural team, the Registered Nurse role provides specialist palliative care to patients and their family/whānau in collaboration with District Nursing Services and General Practitioners. This role will be 0.7 FTE (7 days a fortnight).

This role specifically provides care for people living in the South West Waikato area (Te Kuiti and Taumarunui) and so would suit a person living in this area. There is also a requirement to travel to Hamilton for meetings and education. Proficiency with information technology and related digital devices is

Hospice Waikato requires staff to be committed to growing their own clinical knowledge and contributing to the collective growth and development of specialist palliative care at Hospice Waikato. To be the right fit for this role and our organisation you would bring:

• Registered Nurse qualification
• Registration with Nursing Council of New Zealand
• A current practising certificate with the Nursing Council of New Zealand
• Current full New Zealand driver’s license
• A minimum of 3 years post registration experience in a relevant area of nursing
• Experience in community based nursing
• Proficient with information technology and related digital devices

• Experience in palliative care nursing
• Experience in patient education
• A post registration qualification in palliative care or willingness to pursue this
