Registered Nurse Hospice Waikato Community Nursing Service - South Waikato

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Registered Nurse to join Hospice Waikato, one of the largest hospices in New Zealand, delivering high quality specialist holistic nursing care to patients and their families/whānau.

We are currently seeking a Registered Nurse to join our highly motivated and enthusiastic Palliative Care Community Nursing Service – Rural team on a permanent basis. Hours are negotiable (between 28 and 36 hours a week).

This role specifically provides care for people living in the South West Waikato area (Te Kuiti and Taumarunui) and so would suit a person living in this area. There is also a requirement to travel to Hamilton for meetings and education. Proficiency with information technology and related digital devices is essential.

As a part of the Community Nursing Service - Rural team, the Registered Nurse role provides specialist palliative care to patients and their family/whānau in collaboration with District Nursing Services and General Practitioners.

You will receive on the job training and support from a great team of professionals, including Consultants and Medical Officers and a well-established community health and social care team, providing quality, holistic, personalised care for patients and families/whānau. Assistance with PDRP is available, as well as on going professional development from our education team. Post-graduate study is encouraged and supported.

To be considered for this role and our organisation we are looking for someone who has:
• Registered Nurse qualification
• Registration with Nursing Council of New Zealand
• Current Annual Practicing Certificate with the Nursing Council of New Zealand
• Current full New Zealand driver’s license
• Experience in palliative care and/or community nursing
• Proficiency in the use of computers and digital technology
• A desire to learn and grow as an individual
