Registered Nurse Hospice Waikato Community Nursing Service

We are currently seeking Registered Nurse's to join our Community Nursing Service - Hamilton team on a permanent basis. Hours of work per week will be negotiable (between 28 and 36 hours per week).

The Community Nursing Service - Hamilton nursing team provides specialist community palliative care to patients and their family/whaanau in their home, working closely with the wider hospice services, GPs, residential care facilities and district nurses in and around Hamilton city. This role therefore requires an individual who has the ability to work autonomously and as part of an interdisciplinary team, as well as emotional maturity and resilience.

Experience in palliative care and/or community nursing will be a significant advantage and you will need to be proficient with digital technology and using portable electronic devices, as Hospice Waikato is embracing virtual health and new technology. You will need to be committed to growing your own skills and knowledge and contributing to the collective growth and development of the palliative care nursing team at Hospice Waikato.

This role requires an ability to work shifts, including evenings and weekends, as well as on-call overnight.

To be considered for this role and our organisation we are looking for someone who has:

• Registered Nurse qualification
• Registration with Nursing Council of New Zealand
• Current Annual Practicing Certificate with the Nursing Council of New Zealand
• Current full New Zealand driver’s license
• Experience in palliative care and/or community nursing
• Proficiency in the use of computers and digital technology
• A desire to learn and grow as an individual
