Registered Nurse – 12 Months Fixed Term (0.8 FTE)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Registered Nurse to join our Community Nursing team on a 12-month fixed term basis, covering for parental leave. This role provides specialist palliative care to patients and their family/whanau in their own home in collaboration with District Nursing
Services and General Practitioners. This role is 0.8 FTE (8 days a fortnight).

This role specifically provides care for people living in the Thames, Coromandel and Hauraki districts, and so would suit a person living in that area. There is also a requirement to travel to Hamilton for meetings and education. You will need to be competent with information technology and related digital devices.

Hospice Waikato requires staff to be committed to growing their own clinical knowledge and contributing to the collective growth and development of specialist palliative care at Hospice Waikato. To be the right fit for this role and our organisation you would bring:
• Registered Nurse qualification
• Registration with Nursing Council of New Zealand
• A current practising certificate with the Nursing Council of New Zealand
• Current full New Zealand driver’s license
• A minimum of 3 years post registration experience in a relevant area of nursing
• Experience in community based nursing
• Competent with information technology and related devices

• Experience in palliative care nursing
• Experience in patient education
• A post registration qualification in palliative care or related area
