Hospice Waikato Christmas Trees of Remembrance Trees 10 – 24th December 2014

Each year leading up to Christmas, special Christmas trees appear in locations around the Waikato. These trees hold a special place in the community as Christmas is often a time when the loss of a loved one is felt perhaps more than any other time of the year. Customers can make a donation and receive a remembrance card, then write their message on the card and hang it on the dedicated remembrance tree which will be in-store.This year we are excited to announce Farmers and Hospice NZ have formed a partnership that will see 27 hospices throughout the country benefit in a range of ways.

The money raised will help care for Waikato people with life-limiting illnesses. So when you see a Hospice Tree in Farmers Centre Place, Westfield Chartwell, Te Awa The Base, Matamata, Thames and New World Rototuna, take a moment to reflect on the things that really matter and spare a kind thought for the good work Hospice does throughout the year.

Volunteers are needed; if you would like to be involved please contact karen@hospicewaikato.org.nz or phone 07 – 859 1260.

Carols by Candlelight

10632619_729461373767785_6769396555950196113_nJoin us at Carols by candlelight at the Hamilton Lake. No other carols event has quite captured the ambience and joy that Carols by Candlelight achieved in the many years it was run at Hamilton Lake – and this year the Hamilton Christmas Tree Trust is bringing it back with Hospice Waikato as the charity recipient. The First Credit Union Carols by Candlelight event is a traditional carols event filled with local performers, children and combined choirs to lead the carol singing. Bring along a picnic, rug, family and friends and your singing voice for a Christmas sing along. You can help to keep Hospice Services free of charge by making a small donation to Hospice volunteers collecting at the event. So please remember to bring a few coins and give generously.
